Maintenance de Chamaeleo calyptratus
Un petit article pour vous donner les conditions de maintien des Chamaeleo calyptratus. Ces conditions de maintenance que je vous donne ici sont celles que j'emploie dans mon terrarium et ont été définies à force de recherche et de documentation. Tout d'abord ce sont des animaux vivant au sud-est de la péninsule arabique.
Dans le terrarium il faudra délimiter deux zones, une zone chaude et une zone froide, on fera aller les températures de 20 en bas du terrarium à 30°C en haut du terrarium le jour et de 20°C la nuit. L'humidité doit être fortement présente surtout l'été, on optera pour une humidité d'environ 60-80%. L'automne et l'hiver seront des saison sèches. Les caméleons ont besoin d'une pulvérisation journalière de leur terrarium afin de pouvoir boire sur les feuillages (comme la rosée).
Notre terrarium est un flexarium qui mesure 36x36x63, il sera changé pour un flexarium plus grand quand notre mâle aura grandi. Ces animaux sont arboricoles donc on privilégira un terrarium très arboré avec beaucoup de points d'escalade.
La nourriture est essentiellement composée de grillons de petite taille, à varier suivant la taille de l'individu. Ils mangent donc des insectes, mais également des végétaux (petites feuilles, fruits frais et fleur, attention donc aux types des plantes vivantes que vous utilisez pour former votre terrarium).
L'UVb est un 5.0.
